A Pest IT course, built with Peter McCarthy, on bird jobs going back to 1994.
The Bird Management Course
Most people arrive here with a job on Thursday, not a study plan. So this page starts with your week, not our syllabus: pick the door that sounds like the job in front of you. The Bird Management Course teaches you to read a site, name the bird and pick the system the pressure calls for: everything we have learned keeping birds off buildings, crops and solar. It is written for the people doing the work and the people paying for it. Every lesson is named on this page, so you can see the shape of it before you give it your time.
The course is a Pest IT build, developed with Peter McCarthy, and it draws on a field record of bird jobs across Australia and New Zealand going back to 1994. Winged Menace: A Guide to Pest Bird Management (2021), by Peter McCarthy and Dr Sali Bache, informed the framework, and lessons cite it where it did. Where the field record has moved past the page, the lesson follows the field, and where Peter is quoted, the lesson says so. On law, chemicals and animal welfare, the lessons point you at the current source, because those move.
Built from the same thinking as the course, free, and live now.
