Maintenance

Inspect trap structure, hinges, and locking mechanism before each deployment. Clean mesh and base after use to remove droppings and food residue. Store collapsed in the storage bag when not deployed. Replace springs or valve components if tension weakens.

Safety

Monitor all traps daily. Captured animals must have access to food and water at all times. Never leave a deployed trap unattended for more than 24 hours. Observe all relevant state and local legislation regarding pest animal management.

About The Possum & Cat Magnet Trap

Two species, two regulatory contexts, one trap. The Possum and Cat Magnet handles both feral cat management and possum management in a single heavy-duty collapsible unit. At 6kg, it is substantially heavier than the 2kg typical for imported alternatives: the same construction quality principle that defines the Fox Magnet. For feral cats: capture and humane dispatch. Feral cats are an introduced species contributing to the decline of native birds, mammals, and amphibians. Cage trapping provides a targeted, humane capture method for pest managers and agribusiness operators. For possums: capture and release only. Possums are protected native wildlife in all Australian states and territories. A permit is required in most states. Trapped possums must be released on the same property within 50 metres of the capture point, after sunset. Relocation to another site is illegal. In QLD, WA, and NT, trapping must be carried out by or under the supervision of a licensed wildlife controller. Collapsible for vehicle transport.
