Advanced IPM

Integrated Pest Management Role

Physical deterrence for gutters and leading edges. Passive, no consumables. Annual inspection required: leaf litter and debris accumulate quickly in gutters and render spike sections ineffective if not cleared.

Professional Installation

  1. Clean gutter with AvePro Gotta Go Bird Dropping Remover. Allow to dry.
  2. Apply bond adhesive to the spike base.
  3. Press firmly into gutter profile.
  4. Cut sections at gutter joins, downpipe entrances, and corners using tinsnips or AvePro Spike Cutting Shears.
  5. Ensure full coverage with no significant gaps at junctions. Leave downpipe entrances clear.

Approx 15-20 min per 20m carton for an experienced installer. Trade Install

Maintenance

Annual inspection recommended.
Check for and clear debris accumulation on spike sections.
Check adhesion and refix any sections that have lifted.
Stainless construction requires no other maintenance.

Safety

WHS at Height applies where installation is on roofs or requires work above 2m.
Wear PPE appropriate for the work environment.
Avoid direct contact with sharp spike rods during handling and cutting.
