Integrated Pest Management Role

Structural anchor component in the AvePro bird netting system. Eye Bolts are one of the first items installed in a netting job: they anchor the cable perimeter to the building before the cable is run, tensioned, and the net is attached. The installer fixes Eye Bolts at each corner and intermediate anchor point along the cable run on steel surfaces.

Professional Installation

Drill M6 hole into steel structural section. Thread eye bolt and secure. Loop 2.4mm cable through the eye bolt loop. Thread a Copper Ferrule 2.6mm over the cable end and crimp with the Ratchet Crimping Tool to lock the cable permanently.

Component - installation time forms part of the overall cable perimeter installation. Trade Install

Maintenance

Annual inspection. Check eye bolt integrity and cable crimp. Replace any corroded or damaged fixings. Check that cable tension remains within specification.

Safety

WHS at Height applies for all elevated netting installations.
Use correct PPE when drilling into steel structural sections.
Ensure cable crimp is fully complete before loading the system.

AvePro Eye Bolts are the cable anchor for bird netting installations on steel structural surfaces. An 6mm hole is drilled into the steel beam, or purlin. The Eye Bolt threads in with a nut to secure it. The eye provides the attachment point where the stainless steel cable is looped through and locked in place with a Copper Ferrule crimp. Pack of 20. The building surface determines which anchor to use. Eye Bolts are for steel structural sections only. For masonry surfaces (concrete, brick, tilt slab), use AvePro Net Bolts. For tin, aluminium sheeting, timber or surfaces requiring a broad-base fixing, use AvePro Pad Eyes. On jobs with mixed surface types, you may need all three.
